Rimanere incinta con il ciclo, è possibile? Questo è un dubbio che attanaglia tantissime donne, sia quelle che cercano una gravidanza, sia quelle che vogliono evitarla. Secondo il metodo Ogino Knaus, si può rimanere incinta solo durante i giorni fertili, mentre durante le mestruazioni è impossibile. In un ciclo di 28 giorni, l’ovulazione avviene intorno al 14° giorno, ma siccome gli spermatozoi vivono in media 3 giorni, i giorni fertili sono quelli che vanno dal 10° al 14° giorno. Durante i restati giorni, compresi quelli delle mestruazioni, non è possibile rimanete incinte. In teoria questo è vero, perché solo se c’è ovulazione è possibile il concepimento, ma nella pratica le cose sono un po’ più complicate. Questo perché calcolare l’ovulazione con certezza è possibile sono in caso di ciclo regolare di 28 giorni, ma nella maggior parte delle donne il ciclo subisce variazioni da un mese all’altro anche significative. Senza contare che è possibile avere cicli anovulatori, così come cicli con due ovulazioni (seppur raramente).

Questo perché, ad esempio, in caso di ciclo anticipato, anche l’ovulazione viene anticipata e potrebbe coincidere con gli ultimi giorni di flusso mestruale. Insomma, non c’è da fidarsi! Ma è possibile anche rimanere incinta prima del ciclo? La risposta è di nuovo affermativa, perché in caso di ciclo in ritardo, anche l’ovulazione arriva non intorno al 14° giorno, bensì qualche giorno prima del ciclo.

E rimanere incinta dopo il ciclo? Di nuovo: sì, il rischio c’è. Come abbiamo detto più su, in caso di ciclo più corto dei canonici 28 giorni, l’ovulazione risulta anticipata e può avvenire anche dopo 4-5 giorni dall’inizio delle mestruazioni, quando il flusso di solito è appena terminato o sta per terminare. Se avete avuto rapporti durante le mestruazioni, considerando che gli spermatozoi sopravvivono qualche giorno nelle tube, potete rimanere incinte anche subito dopo il ciclo.

In conclusione, abbiamo visto che non c’è scampo: è possibile rimanere incinta con il ciclo, così come subito prima o subito dopo. Basarsi sul metodo Ogino Knaus per evitare una gravidanza è quindi poco affidabile. Vogliamo, però, affrontare anche un’altra questione che preoccupa molte donne: è possibile avere una gravidanza con ciclo, ovvero avere le mestruazioni anche durante i nove mesi? In questo caso, la risposta è no, non è possibile. Nonostante alcuni allarmistici programmi TV negli ultimi anni ci abbiano fatto temere di poter essere incinte nonostante le mestruazioni, quest’ultime sono il sintomo dell’endometrio che si sfalda e se l’endometrio si sfalda, vuol dire che l’embrione non si è riuscito ad impiantare. Durante la gravidanza è possibile avere piccole perdite ematiche, soprattutto durante i primi mesi, ma non si tratta di mestruazioni, bensì di perdite da impianto o minacce d’aborto.
