La febbre dopo il vaccino è una conseguenza che preoccupa molto le mamme. Per questo motivo alcune si rifiutano di farli proprio per la reazione che può avere sul figlio. Ci sono vaccini che possono causare uno stato febbrile, una reazione allergica e in casi gravi anche autismo e altre malattie. Ma quali sono i motivi che provocano queste conseguenze indesiderate? Il vaccino fa male? Quest’ultima è una delle domande più frequenti nelle neo-famiglie.

Perchè viene la febbre?

Durante la vaccinazione viene introdotto nel corpicino del bambino una particella o un frammento del virus, in modo da stimolare gli anticorpi per quel microrganismo proteggerlo nel caso di un futuro contagio. È comunque un virus e quindi può risultare un po’ aggressivo per il bimbo, che reagirà con la febbre. A detta dei medici è una reazione decisamente normale.

Quanto dovrebbe durare la febbre?

La febbre in teoria si manifesta dalle 2 alle 24 ore successive alla somministrazione e dovrebbe svanire nel giro di un paio di giorni. Se così non fosse ci sarà necessità di contattare il medico di famiglia. Un’eccezione è per i vaccini contro la rosolia, il morbillo e la parotite, la quale febbre può protrarsi fino a 15 giorni.

Fidarsi dei vaccini

Molte mamme non hanno fiducia dei vaccini e tentennano a fare persino quelli obbligatori, ora che tanto obbligatori non sono più. Però bisogna dire che queste piccole dosi di anticorpi vengono studiati a lungo e sperimentati diverse volte prima di essere messe in commercio. Anche se, gli studiosi affermano che non danneggiano alla salute, purtroppo conosciamo casi che testimoniano il contrario. Quindi mamme, sappiate che i vaccini possono salvare vostro figlio da molti contagi ma possono subentrare degli effetti collaterali.

Cosa fare in caso di febbre

Se vostro figlio avrà un aumento della temperatura corporea in seguito ad una vaccinazione dovete seguire le classiche procedure. Prima di tutto non esporlo a fonti di calore. Cercare di tenerlo scoperto il più possibile per evitare che si accumuli calore. Inoltre è importante farlo bere molto. Se dopo queste accortezze la febbre non cala, allora è il caso di contattare il pediatra che sicuramente vi fornirà un medicinale a base di paracetamolo, ad esempio la Tachipirina. Di solito viene introdotto sotto forma di supposta, così da non passare per lo stomaco del bambino.

Reazione al vaccino esavalente

Il vaccino esavalente è una scelta che molto mamme fanno. Consiste nel somministrare i sei obbligatori in un’unico ciclo. Se ci sono dei pro, di certo non è esente dai contro. Anche in questo caso il bambino potrebbe avere della febbre dopo la somministrazione, l’importante è che non superi i 38,5°. Inoltre ci potrebbe essere un rigonfiamento nel punto di iniezione e un raffreddore improvviso con rigonfiamento dei linfonodi. Niente di preoccupante, tutto dovrebbe passare nel giro di pochi giorni. Se così non fosse chiamate subito il vostro pediatra!
